Located in a fast-growing town in the inner Paris suburbs, this brand-new developer-built apartment had all the assets of a promising location, but a standard neutrality incompatible with the identity of its inhabitants.

The brief: to transform this generic dwelling into a bespoke interior, personalising every fitting and entirely rethinking the layout of the spaces to suit the lifestyles and sensibilities of those who live there.

Every room was rethought as a whole — the kitchen, the bathroom, the study, the bedroom and the entrance — with attention to the quality of the materials, the coherence of the spaces and the harmony of the ensemble. The aim was to reconfigure the use and volume of each room to offer a vivid experience across the different moments of life: from the quiet morning to the intimate evening, from focus to rest, from the impulse of departure to the gentleness of return.

The kitchen, open onto the living area, asserts itself through restraint. Clean lines, simplified volumes, an absence of the superfluous: it blends into the space without dominating it, leaving all the room to the life unfolding around it.

The entrance, bathed in soft, oriented light, plays a subtle yet decisive role: that of a threshold which invites, naturally guiding the gaze and the body towards the heart of the apartment. From the very first steps, the tone is set.

The bathroom was entirely rethought and recomposed. On entering, a large mirror welcomes the reflection of light. Wood and the natural tones of the tiling, combined with refined, pared-down lines, retain only the essential, so that the whole space invites one to focus on oneself and make room for emotion. A place that is both a refuge of relaxation and renewal, and a space of presence to oneself.

True to the studio’s Franco-Japanese signature, the project combines purity and warmth, precision and emotion, making this apartment a place in its own right, inhabited by meaning as much as by comfort.
